
Sharks Sign Player from Open Tryout

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Jacksonville Sharks announce today the signing of wide receiver / defensive back Miles Kelly who signs with the Sharks for his rookie season of arena football following his performance at the Sharks winter open tryout where athletes from over 15 states attended the Jacksonville Sharks December 19th workout at Episcopal High School. Among those athletes was First Coast Academy's Miles Kelly who just completed his college football career in-state at Florida Tech and whose performance in the Sharks tryout led to a phone call from Sharks head Coach Siaha Burley in late December. Officially today Kelly has been offered to join the Sharks training camp roster for an opportunity to compete for a final roster spot for the upcoming 2022 season.
Miles Kelly (6'0, 189) finished his college career at Division II Florida Tech where he played receiver for the Panthers playing in over 16 games during his career and earning Second Team All-Gulf South Conference honors. Kelly graduated from Florida Tech with a total of 39 receptions for 627 yards, and two touchdowns. Kelly set a single game record for receiving yards with 217 receiving yards against Delta State in 2018. Following college, Kelly was an undrafted NFL free agent in 2020.
Kelly transferred to Florida Tech from Mesa Community College in Arizona. During his time at Mesa CC. he played receiver for his first two seasons at the JUCO level. He played in eight games for Mesa catching 12 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns.
Kelly is a Jacksonville, FL native who attended First Coast Academy. During his high school career he played both football and baseball for the Buccaneers.
