
Sharks Sign Former Oregon Duck Oshay Dunmore

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Jacksonville Sharks announced today the signing of defensive back / wide receiver Oshay Dunmore who enters his fourth season of arena football and first with the Jacksonville Sharks.
Oshay Dunmore (6'3, 215) last played professional football in Brazil for the MGFL, an overseas American football league. Dunmore played defensive back and was a punt returner. Prior to his career in South America, Dunmore played in the Arena Football League (AFL) in 2018-2019 with the Washington Valor. In Washington, he played defensive back starting the 2018 season with four tackles, one pass breakup, and one interceptions before he finished the season with the Albany Empire where he played both defensive back and kick returner.
Dunmore started his college career at the University of Oregon where he played linebacker for the Ducks during his first two years. As a redshirt freshman he produced nine tackles in 10 games for Oregon. Dunmore and the Ducks went 11-2 finishing 9th in the nation for FBS schools and competed against the University of Texas in the Alamo Bowl where Oregon defeated the Longhorns 30-7. During his red-shirt junior year he transferred to Illinois State where he played in all 15 games for the Cardinals with a season total of 63 tackles and two interceptions. Dunmore helped Illinois State to a 13-2 overall record and a FCS National Championship appearance against North Dakota State led by quarterback Carson Wentz. Dunmore finished his college career at Southern Oregon University where he competed as a fifth year senior playing outside linebacker during the 2015 season. Dunmore recorded 56 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, three pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, and one sack. Dunmore and the Raiders finished the year as pioneer conference champions with a perfect 10-0 record.
Oshay Dunmore grew up in Newport, OR and played for Newport high school. As a high school football player he played both ways starting as a defensive end and serving as the second team quarterback. On defense he received 4A First Team All-State honors. Dunmore also competed in track & field where he was a two-time state champion in the triple jump and a state champion at the long job.
