
Sharks Sign Former IFL Defensive Back Kasey Johnson

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Jacksonville Sharks announce today the signing of defensive back Kasey Johnson to the Sharks 2022 training camp roster. This will be Johnson's second season of arena football and first season with the Jacksonville Sharks.
Kasey Johnson (6'0, 185) began the 2021 season with the Jacksonville Sharks where he competed in training camp. However, Johnson spent his rookie season splitting time between the Tuscon Sugar Skulls and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. As a rookie Johnson helped the Rattlers to a 12-2 season and an appearance in the 2021 United Bowl.
Johnson finished his college career at Lyon College, a NAIA school in Batesville, AR. Johnson played defensive back for Lyon College as a senior. Johnson transferred from Southern Arkansas University, a division II program in Magnolia, AR. As a junior he saw action in 10 games landing eight tackles, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble. Johnson helped the Muleriders to an undefeated home record of 5-0 and a overall 7-4 record that season. SAU earned appearances in the NCAA D. II Football Showcase against Henderson State as well as gained a Battle of the Timberlands victory against University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Johnson began his college career at Mesa Community College where he played his first two seasons in Mesa, AZ. Johnson is from Little Rock, AR where he played high school football.
