JACKSONVILLE - The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the signing of Defensive Back Keiron Jones who signs for his sixth season of arena football and his second with the Jacksonville Sharks.

Jones (5'10, 185) last played for the Atlantic City Blackjacks of the Arena Football League (AFL) as a defensive back. During the 2019 season, he totaled 13 tackles, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one interception for Atlantic City. He also spent time as a kick returner for the Blackjacks where he returned 17 kicks for 246 yards and one touchdown. In 2018, he entered training camp with the Jacksonville Sharks but spent the season with the Maine Mammoths playing for Head Coach James Fuller in Maine where he was a star defensive back totaling 83 tackles, 22 pass breakups, ten interceptions, and one touchdown earning second-team All-NAL honors with Maine. Jones played defensive back for the Arizona Rattlers in 2016 where he totaled nine tackles and four pass breakups.

Jones began his arena football career with the Jacksonville Sharks where he played during the 2014-2015 seasons with the Sharks. During his first two years, he combined for seven tackles, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble supporting a defense that brought Sharks fans a 2015 American Conference Championship victory and an appearance in the Arena Bowl XXVIII.

Jones spent his college career at Southeastern Louisiana where he first started on special teams before becoming a starting defensive back for the Lions. Jones had a career total of 53 tackles, four pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. Jones is a native of New Orleans, LA, and played football for Grace King High School in Metairie, LA.
