Sharks Get 8 Strikeouts from Quintana in 3-1 Win over Torrington

Matt Quintana struck out eight batters to lift the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (1-0) to a 3-1 win over the Torrington Titans (1-1) at Fuessenich Park.

Jon Testani boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the second and ninth innings.

Despite the loss, the Torrington Titans' Jose Rondon dominated the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out eight.

Jack St. Clair was hot from the plate for the Torrington Titans. St. Clair went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the ninth inning.

George Lund couldn't get it done on the mound for the Torrington Titans, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
