WORCESTER - The Jacksonville Sharks (2-1) took on the Massachusetts Pirates (1-3) in a week four matchup in New England. Both teams battled all night but the Sharks came out on top 55 to 36 for their second straight win on the road and their highest scoring game of 2019 season so far.

Quarterback Jonathan Bane was firing on all cylinders, the Sharks quarterback threw 24 for 34, on 223 yards, and seven touchdowns including one rushing touchdown. The Bane & Wilson show continues connecting 12 times for 103 yards and three touchdowns. Wilson now has two 10+ receiving games this season as he looks to keep his First Team All-NAL status for 2019. Next up, Durron Neal had five receptions for 43 yards, and two touchdowns. Fortson finished the night with three receptions for 48 yards and one touchdown. Just like in Columbus, Burley's offense continues to spread the ball around to it's stacked receiving core. On defense, the Sharks finished the night with three sacks by three Sharks (Taylor, Bowers, Z.Brown) against the Pirates Sean Brackett, a dual threat quarterback and 2018 league MVP. Despite the Pirates being a top scoring team last year averaging 55 points a game last season the Sharks held Brackett tonight to 58% completions and two interceptions. The interceptions came from defensive back Seth Ellis and Robert Brown.

The Sharks Defense had another impressive night starting off hot with an interception on Brackett's second pass of the game. The Sharks defensive line built up pressure all night and battered Brackett all night and holding the Pirates to only 36 points. The final touchdown of the night for Jacksonville came on a one-yard rush from fullback Alstevis Squirewell with less than a minute left on the clock, the Sharks defense made one final stand to secure the win in New England 55-36.

The Sharks return home next week on Saturday, May 11 at 7:00 pm as we host the defending NAL Champions, the Carolina Cobras for Fortnite and First Responders Night in the Shark Tank. The Sharks are offering Buy One Get One Free Tickets for all First Responders and their Families. To get tickets (904) 621-0700 for more information.
