Corpus Christi Sharks News Release
Bossier City LA - Saturday night at the Century Tel Center was just another chapter in the same books as the Battle Wings (5-5) took advantage of six turnovers on their way to a 79-29 win over the Sharks (2-8).
After jumping out to a 14 - 13 lead following Anthony Clarks 10th touchdown reception of the year the Sharks would never lead again. FB Jason Schule was an unstoppable force setting an af2 record for rushing yards in a game with 116 and 6 trips into the end zone. With the performance, Schule moved to number two on the af2 all-time rushing list.
The Sharks offense struggled all night long behind Gary Coopers 4 interceptions and the defense was once again ineffective. Jonathan Graham had the only memorable performance for Corpus Christi catching 10 passes for 103 yards and 2 scores.
Wings QB Andrico Hines on the other hand had a solid performance going 14-22-0 for 215 yards and 4 TD's. Hines main target on the night was Chavis McCollister who had 6 grabs for 90 yards and 2 TD's.
The Sharks certainly have a lot of questions that will need to be answered before they return to the field on June 13th to take on the Rio Grande Valley Dorados. The Dorados will come into the American Bank Center an angry team following the 62-48 upset loss on the road to the Amarillo Dusters. Kickoff is set for 7:05pm on US Army Men's night presented by Andrews Distributing and Corpus Christi Harley Davidson. The game will feature $2 beer and a special flag football game at halftime between the Lady Sharks and the Crush Girls. For more information contact the Sharks at 882-9292
