THE STAKES: The Lightning enter Week 11 looking to continue momentum after a hard-fought 57-56 victory in the previous week against the Central Valley Coyotes. Saturday's game means more than bragging rights, a claim that's been at 50/50 with the Lightning tied, 3-3 in the all-time series against the Fever. A win for the Lightning guarantees them no worse than a third place tie in the West Division with Central Valley. A win and a Coyotes gives the Lightning sole possession of third place. With less margin for error than Stockton to clinch a postseason berth, a 1-8 record for Tri-Cities has put them into desperation mode for virtually the remainder of the season if the ArenaCup playoffs are to become a reality. The Lightning are looking to avenge a 43-42 loss in Week 7 - the only win of the season for Tri-Cities.
If Stockton defeats Tri-Cities it would ...
- Keep the Lightning at least in a third place tie with Central Valley in the Pacific Division
- Give the Lightning their first two-game win streak this season
- Level the season series at 1-1 and give Stockton a 4-3 edge in the lifetime series
