Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA- The Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings dominated the Corpus Christi Sharks 79-29 in front of a raucous crowd at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City Saturday night. Wings' FB Jason Schule set a new af2 single game record with 112 rushing yards and moved into 2nd place in the af2 ranks of all-time leading rushers. Schule found the endzone 6 times to go along with the 112 yard rushing effort to give him 16 rushing touchdowns on the 2009 season. Schule, affectionately known as the Bayou Butcher, wasn't the only BattleWing carving up the Corpus Christi Sharks this night as the defense forced 6 turnovers. Sharks' QB Gary Cooper was intercepted four times, two each by DB's Roland Cola and Phillip Geiggar.

FB Jason Schule started the scoring streak with an 11 yard touchdown rumble, his third of the night, to give the Wings' a 20-14 lead. The BattleWings then turned a Cooper interception into 7 points when QB Andrico Hines connected with WR Chavis McCollister on a 28 yard touchdown pass. Wings' K Art Carmody gave his team a 30-14 lead going into halftime when he nailed a 38 yard Field Goal as time expired in the 2nd quarter. The Wings' didn't waste anytime expanding their lead early in the third quarter as QB Andrico Hines hooked up with WR Chavis McCollister on an 11 yard touchdown pass to give the Wings' a 37-14 lead. The Wings' went on to score two more touchdowns before the Sharks could respond with a Gary Cooper 6 yard touchdown scramble to make the score 51-21 with 2:09 remaining in the third quarter.
The BattleWings showed their killer instinct in the fourth quarter as the Sharks' offense was held scoreless while the BattleWings' offense produced three more touchdowns. Wings' WR P.J. Berry hauled in a 28 yard scoring bomb and FB Jason Schule ended the game with two consecutive rushing scores.
