Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Sharks are happy to announce that former Sharks player and AFL Champion Bill Alford will be joining the coaching staff for the 2023 season. Alford played defensive back through the 2010-2013 seasons and was a member of the Sharks AFL championship team in 2011.
In his career with the Sharks, Alford had 153 tackles, 27 pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, six interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns. Coach Gibson is excited to bring Alford's expertise to the coaching staff. "Being a former Shark himself and a part of the 2011 Championship Team, he understands the game," Coach Gibson said. "His experience and knowledge will add to an already veteran arena staff." He joked, "March can't get here soon enough."
