
Sharks Add Defensive Back Joe Blount

JACKSONVILLE - The 2019 National Arena League champion Jacksonville Sharks announced today the signing of Defensive Back Joe Blount. Blount enters his fourth season of arena football and first with the Jacksonville Sharks.
Joe Blount (5'11, 200) originally signed with the Maine Mammoths of the National Arena League, when the team suspended operations he landed a contract with the Bismark Bucks of the Indoor Football League (IFL) where he recorded 19 total tackles. In 2018 he signed with the Sioux Falls Storm and recorded 27 total tackles. In 2017, Blount spent his rookie year as a defensive back for the Triangle Torch of the Supreme Indoor Football League (SIF). He recorded 10 interceptions, 19 tackles, and two touchdowns during his time with the Torch.
Blount spent his college career at Central State University in Wilberforce, OH from 2012-2015. During his time at CSU, he recorded 73 tackles and five interceptions. He also was awarded First Team All-Conference in the SIAC. Blount is from St. Louis, MO. He attended McClure Highschool where he played football, basketball and also ran track.
