Jacksonville Sharks News Release

JACKSONVILLE - The 2012 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Wednesday that the team has activated wide receiver London Crawford from injured reserve.

The 26-year-old Crawford was originally assigned to the Jacksonville roster on December 5, 2012. Crawford participated in the team's preseason training camp, but was placed on injured reserve on March 16, 2013 after suffering an injury in the team's preseason scrimmage against the Orlando Predators. The rookie is eligible to play in this weekend's game against the Utah Blaze.

Though this is Crawford's first season in the AFL, the receiver does have prior indoor football experience. He also has had a taste of both the National Football League and Canadian Football League, beginning his professional career by participating in the Houston Texans' training camp prior to the 2010 NFL season. Crawford has also spent time on the practice roster of both the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.

Crawford played at the University of Arkansas, where he totaled 53 receptions for 747 yards and four touchdowns. As a junior in 2008, Crawford totaled 27 catches for 311 yards and a score. Crawford is a native of Mobile, Alabama and attended Davidson High School.

In another Wednesday transaction, the Sharks announced the defensive lineman Justin Parrish has been placed on reassignment. Parrish appeared in seven games for Jacksonville this season, making one start and totaling 11.5 tackles (eight solo), two sacks and a fumble recovery. Following the day's transactions, the Jacksonville roster remains at the League maximum of 24 active players.
