The Corpus Christi Sharks (4-10) continued their recent on-field turnaround with an impressive 67-42 pounding of the Amarillo Dusters at Radiology Associates Field @ the American Bank Center Arena last Saturday night. The Sharks 67 point outburst was their largest of the season. Corpus Christi was lead by QB (and former Moody standout) John De Los Santos who threw three TD passes and ran for another score all in the first half and veteran WR Steve Smith who had 3 touchdown receptions on the night. Ivory McCann notched his 6th kick-off return for a touchdown this season on a 48-yarder also in the first half. Amarillo 's Steve Bergeski was the go-to-guy for Dusters QB Steve Panella as he caught 9 passes for 130 yards and 3 scores. Corpus Christi DL Estus Hood added a sack and a safety late in the game; he leads the team in sacks with 6. The Sharks have now won two straight games and 3 of their last 4 after starting the season 1-9.

SHARKS PACK THE HOUSE FOR CHARITY

The Sharks 1st Annual Caller-Times "Pack the House for Charity" Night was a rousing success as a record crowd of 5,170 saw the Sharks pound the Amarillo Dusters 67-42. As part of the promotion, a portion of the ticket sales from the game benefited the Rise School of Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend - Corpus Christi Youth Football League. The Sharks also provided each group with a cash grant for their efforts. Between ticket sales, the cash grants and corporate contributions/donations over $10,000 was raised for the two organizations. Thank you to all those individuals and businesses that committed themselves to assisting us in this great cause.
