Shark Earns League Honors, Bernard Morris Named Playmaker of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, FLA - The Jacksonville Sharks (10-4) announced that quarterback Bernard Morris was named the Playmaker of the Week after his stellar performance against the Tampa Bay Storm in Week 16.

Morris (6'4, 215 lbs) made the most of his day in the spotlight after entering the game for injured veteran quarterback Aaron Garcia. Coming in on the third snap of the game, Morris led the Sharks to a win over in-state rival and top ranked Tampa Bay. Morris ended the night with zero interceptions and 21-of-40 completions for 199 yards and four touchdowns. Morris also had a rushing touchdown of 30 yards.

This season, Morris has contributed in all aspects of the game. On offense, Morris has completed 32-of-58 passes for 339 yards and five touchdowns. Morris also has eight receptions for 132 yards and two touchdowns to go along with his 51 yards and four touchdowns on 24 rushing attempts. Morris has started at jack-linebacker compiling 12 total tackles, one pass break-up and a defensive score. Morris rounds out his scoring with an onside kick recovery returned nine yards for a touchdown.
