Blaze Sign Four to Boost Roster

SALT LAKE CITY -The Utah Blaze announced the signing today of four players prior to their upcoming game versus the Dallas Vigilantes. The Blaze were assigned WR/DB LaBrose Hedgemon (5-11, 210, Jackson State), WR/DB Olukayode Oredugba (6-1, 192, UCLA), OL/DL Garrett Smith (6-3, 285, Utah) and FB/LB Jermaine Younger (6-1, 285, Utah State). Terms of the contract were not disclosed due to team policy.

Hedgemon started his college career at Notre Dame before finishing at Jackson State. He spent 2009 with the af2 Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers. Oredugba played collegiately at UCLA and spent 2009 with the af2 Stockton Lightning.

Smith starred collegiately at the University of Utah where he was a two-time All-MWC First-Team defensive lineman. He spent 2006 and 2007 with the Blaze, recording 20.5 total tackles, and 3.0 sacks.

Younger returns to the AFL for his ninth season, having previously spent time with the New Jersey Red Dogs, Toronto Phantoms, Las Vegas Gladiators, Georgia Force and New England Sea Wolves.

The Blaze continue on the road this week to face the Dallas Vigilantes, who currently sport the same record on Saturday, July 24 with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. (MT). The following week, the Blaze will face the Alabama Vipers in their final game of the season on Saturday, July 31 with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. (MT).
