At this point, Taylor Nelson came into the game to replace Heemskerk. The Bulls tied the game with 9:31 remaining after a beautiful goal by Morrison. A powerful move to get around his defender left Morrison alone with the goaltender. The wrist shot went over the blocker of Guggenberger and into the top of the net. Brett Findlay picked up the only assist. Alaska regained the lead with 1:20 remaining in the second period to take a 4-3 lead. A shot by B.J. Crum deflected in front of Nelson, and into the net. Garry Nunn picked up the only assist.
