Seventh RailHawk in as many weeks earns top honors

Cary, NC (Tuesday, June 3, 2008) - The Carolina RailHawks (3-1-4) continue to garner accolades from the USL as midfielder Martin Nuñez was named to the USL-1 Team of the Week for the second consecutive week. Nuñez was named to the team for his performance against the Seattle Sounders (3-5-2) last Wednesday night that resulted in a 2-1 RailHawk victory.

Nuñez tallied his first assist of the year when he found Connally Edozien open early in the ninth minute. Edozien's goal was the franchises' first goal against the Sounders. Seattle was the 2007 USL-1 Champions.

"Like I said last week, the more Martin continues to understand this league, the better we play," said Head Coach Scott Schweitzer. Right now Martin is playing phenomenally, and has a great chance at Rookie of the Year."

Fans can expect to see Martin Nuñez in action when the RailHawks return home for the first round of the US Open Cup on Tuesday, June 10th at 7:30 PM as they host the 2007 PDL Eastern Conference Champion Brooklyn Knights. Following their impressive run in the 2007 US Open Cup, The RailHawks have decided to offer their loyal fans a special $10 ticket offer with free parking.
