Charlotte Checkers News Release

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced today the details surrounding the seventh annual Pink in the Rink, presented by Presbyterian Hospital, which will take place Saturday, Feb. 9.

The event aims to raise awareness and funds for the fight against women's-related cancers, specifically breast cancer, and beneficiaries will include Carolina Breast Friends, Cindy's Hope Chest, Go Jen Go and Presbyterian Hospital's Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center.

The players will wear specialty pink jerseys and there will be a live post-game jersey auction to benefit the above mentioned charities. In addition, there will be a giveaway of pink Checkers scarves to the first 2,500 women through the door and an honoring of breast cancer survivors.

The Presbyterian Breast Center Mobile Mammography Unit, a 38-ft. multi-functional coach that offers cutting-edge screening mammography services, will be on site along with the Charlotte Fire Department "The Pink Lady" fire truck.

Special $15 fundraising tickets are available with $5 going back to the respective Pink in the Rink charity. To purchase these tickets, please visit www.gocheckers.com/pink.
