New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
Metairie, LA - Zephyrs starter Doug Sessions pitched eight innings allowing only 2 hits in front of 5,933 Sunday Night at Zephyr Field. Sessions, who was ranked second in the PCL with a 2.20 ERA going into tonight's game helped his chances into moving into the number one spot by continuing his streak of innings pitched without allowing an earned run to twenty-nine.
The Zephyrs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first and that proved to be all they would need. Zephyrs Catcher Raul Chavez homered over the left field wall to give the Zephyrs a 3-0 lead. First Baseman Alan Zinter later scored on a fielder's choice off of the bat of Kyle Logan. Left Fielder Henri Stanley went three for five for the Zephyrs with 2 runs scored to help the Zephyrs even the series.
Isotopes starter Sean Bergman pitched seven innings allowing eleven hits and five runs, and struck out seven Zephyrs in a losing cause. Right Fielder Abraham Nunez went two for two for Albuquerque.
