Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Stephane Da Costa tallied two goals, including the overtime winner, as the Binghamton Senators posted a 4-3, come-from-behind win, over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in Game Two of the American Hockey League Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Saturday night.

The win snapped an eight-game postseason losing streak for the Sens against the Pens dating back to 2005, and evened the best-of-five series at one game apiece.

The Penguins held a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes of play, thanks to goals by Chuck Kobasew, Tom Kostopoulos and Mike Carman. But Binghamton's Mark Stone, who assisted on power play goals from Da Costa and Chris Wideman earlier in the game, blasted a shot past Peter Mannino just 23 seconds into the third period to even the score for the home side.

That score held for the next 30 minutes as the teams played at a frantic pace, especially during the extra frame. Once again, Stone was involved, backhanding a shot that bounced through traffic in front to Da Costa at the far side of the ice. His wrister found the short side corner for his second of the night at 11:07 to give the Sens the victory.

The series now switches to Wilkes-Barre for games three (Wednesday) and four (Friday), with both taking place at 7:05pm. Tickets for both games are on sale now through the arena box office, online at TicketMaster.com or by calling the Penguins at 570-208-7367.
