Senreiso Solid, but Sox Fall in Extras

Despite two Juan Senreiso home runs, the Reno Silver Sox lost Tuesday night 13-9 to the Chico Outlaws in ten innings.
After Chuck Sidlinger?s first of three singles, Senreiso hit the first of his two home runs in the bottom of the second inning. The three run blast made it 6-2 Reno after two innings. Sidlinger continues to lead the team in on-base percentage raising his mark of .430 coming into the game.
Reno starter Nick Moran left after three innings, still bothered by arm pain. Outlaw starting pitcher Jake McKinley also pitched only three innings allowing six runs.
Senreiso hit his second home run of the night in the fourth inning, following Sidlinger?s second single. The two run shot was a mammoth blast over the left field fence.
With two outs in the top of the ninth inning and Reno leading 9-8, SS Jesse Kovacs drove in the tying run off of Sox reliever Kelly Johnson. The Silver Sox left the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, and the game went to extra innings.
The game went from bad to worse in an instant for the Silver Sox in the top of the tenth inning. DH Todd Gossage singled in RF Daniel Nava to give Chico the lead, and then 1B Jason Van Meetren collided with C Mashai Chikazawa at home plate, leaving Chikazawa injured.
The Silver Sox catcher would lay motionless on the field until paramedics arrived and took him to a local hospital. Preliminary reports show that he will make a full recovery.
The Silver Sox begin a three game series on Wednesday in Chico, where they play the first place Outlaws three more times. The team returns home on Saturday to battle the long beach Armada.
