Harrisburg Senators News Release

Tim Pahuta singled in Josh Johnson in the bottom of the eleventh inning, and the Harrisburg Senators defeated the Portland Sea Dogs at Metro Bank Park on Friday night, by a final score of 3-2. The win pushes the Senators above .500, at 54-53.

Chris Marrero had led off the eleventh with a double, and was immediately replaced by pinch-runner Josh Johsnon. Johnson moved to third on an error by Portland first baseman Anthony Rizzo. After an intentional walk to Adam Fox, Pahuta poked one through the infield on the right side to win the ballgame.

Cole Kimball (3-1) earned the win for the Senators, as he gave up just one hit in two and a third innings of relief. Tom Milone also pitched very well as the starter, allowing just two runs in seven innings of work. Ryne Lawson (5-4) was the Portland pitcher in the eleventh, and took the loss.

For the second straight night, the Sea Dogs scored in the first inning, this time on a Luis Exposito single. Che-Hsaun Lin scored the run, and Portland led 1-0. Jesus Valdez of the Senators led off the second inning with a triple, and then came around to score on an Adam Fox groundout that tied the ballgame.

Four scoreless innings followed, before the teams traded runs in the seventh. First, in the top of the inning, Anthony Rizzo singled off of Milone. Yamaico Navarro's triple brought him home, and temporarily gave Portland the lead. But in the bottom of the frame, Tim Pahuta led off with a double, and later scored on a two-out single by Michael Martinez. There were no runs in the eighth, ninth, or tenth, and then Pahuta played the hero role in the eleventh.

The Senators outhit Portland 10-9 in the ballgame, getting two hits apiece from Valdez, Pahuta, and Chris Marrrero. Martinez, Danny Espinosa, Marvin Lowrance and Edgardo Baez each had one hit. Lin had three hits in defeat for the Sea Dogs.

Game three of the series is on Saturday night at 7 PM at Metro Bank Park. Right-hander Jordan Zimmermann is scheduled to make a start on MLB Rehab for the Senators, after having pitched for the Sens in 2008. Spongebob Squarepants is also slated to make an appearance at the ballgame. Fans interested in listening to the action can tune in to 1460 AM The Ticket or log on to www.senatorsbaseball.com. The pregame show begins at 6:45 PM.
