Harrisburg Senators News Release
For the second consecutive season the Senators are looking for their two biggest young fans to be their Klubhouse Kids. These two lucky youngsters will receive VIP treatment throughout the exciting 2009 season. Tryouts this year are on Saturday, February 14 from 11am until 2pm at the Harrisburg Mall.
Two kids, one boy and one girl, will be selected by a panel of celebrity judges. Each youngster will be required to sing, or speak, Take Me Out to the Ballgame (listed below). The prospective youngsters should be Senators fans that enjoy coming to Commerce Bank Park, but do not need to be baseball players to win. They can be as creative as they want with Take Me Out to the Ballgame and should feel free to dress in their favorite Senators gear or baseball outfits. Here are the words to Take Me Out to the Ballgame:
Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd; Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack, I don't care if I never get back. Let me root, root, root for the home team, If they don't win, it's a shame. For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out, At the old ball game.
As a word of caution, the winners aren't just winning a talent contest but will be expected to participate throughout the 2009 season as the leaders of the Senators Kid's club. Each Sunday during the 2009 season is a Kid's Club Day along with selected other games throughout the season. The winning kids won't be required to be at all of these games, but are encouraged to be at as many as possible. There are some great benefits for the winners and they include:
- A personalized Senators Jersey
- Free admission to each Senators home game for the entire 2009 season
- Appearance in a Senators TV commercial
- A page on the Klubhouse Kids in the 2009 program
