Brazos Valley Bombers News Release

Victoria, TX (July 2, 2015) - After finishing the first half of the 2015 season with a league-best 19-4 record and the eighth consecutive half-season championship for the franchise, the Brazos Valley Bombers began their quest for the second-half championship on Thursday night in Victoria against the Generals.

Rightfielder and Bryan, Texas native Blake Kopetsky led the way for the Bombers going 2-2 with a double and two walks. On the pitching side of things, Evan Karre and Dakota Mekkes combined for 3 scoreless innings pitched out of the bullpen.

The Bombers seven game win streak was snapped by a score of 6-1 on Thursday, but the Bombers will look to get back to their winning ways Friday night against the Generals in Victoria.

The home portion of the second-half for the Bombers will begin on July 9 against the Acadiana Cane Cutters. July 9 will be "9 Innings of Winnings," presented by Scoots; with prizes given away every inning as well as a scooter giveaway. July 9 also falls on a Thursday which means Thirsty Thursday: when beer; margaritas; and soft drinks are one dollar, thanks to Western Beverages.
