
Generals Purple out the Park for Alzheimer's and Sweep the Strykers

Victoria- Dakota Mills followed up Nolan Trabanino's complete game shutout with seven shutout innings, and the Generals beat the Strykers, 5-0, completing the two game sweep. It was a great night as the Generals sported their purple jerseys in support of the Alzheimer's Association.
Travis Jones scored the first run of the game for the Generals in the bottom of the third, scoring on an RBI groundout from Darien Simms.
The Generals scored four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Matt Smith came home on a single from Christian Caudle. Caden Williams scored on a double down the third base line from Jones. Caudle and Jones scored on RBI walks from Skyler Valentine and Darien Simms.
Bryce Tomlin came into pitch for the Strykers with no outs in the bottom of the fourth, replacing Raul Baduel on the mound. Baduel allowed five runs on five hits and an error in two innings of work.
Dan Rankin took over on the mound for the Generals in the eighth. Mills only allowed three hits in seven shutout innings.
After four shutout innings issued by Tomlin, Justin Yost came in to pitch for the Strykers in the bottom of the eighth.
Rankin earned the save with two solid innings of relief.
The Brazos Valley Bombers will be in town the next two nights before the Generals head to The Woodlands to take on the Strykers again in another two game set. Tomorrow night is Thirsty Thursday with $1 dollar draft beer on the party deck all night on the Compadres Ink Party Deck.
