Seattle opened the scoring as Ryan Gropp scored his first of three on the night. He got the Thunderbirds up 2-0 and that score remained into the second period.

Seattle scored 3:32 into the second period on the power play to take a three goal lead. Dillon Dube was awarded a penalty shot and made a nice move to get the Rockets on the board. The Thunderbirds responded quickly regaining their three goal advantage. Seattle took a 4-1 lead into the final frame.

Reid Gardiner brought the Rockets back within one on an in tight deke that he slipped in on the backhand. The Rockets pulled goaltender Michael Herringer late in the game on a penalty kill to make it 5-on-5 but Ryan Gropp completed his hat trick on the empty net. Kyle Topping scored with :22 remaining but the Rockets fell 5-3.

Michael Herringer falls to 26-14-3-0 on the season stopping 18 of 22 shots faced as Kelowna outshot the Thunderbirds 38-23.

The Rockets recored goes to 36-21-5-0 on the year.

The Rockets are back in action tomorrow night when they visit the Spokane Chiefs at 5:05PM.

Kelowna is back home again on Wednesday March 1st when they host the Prince George Cougars.
