It was a very even first period with chances either way and no scoring. Auger faced 10 shots in the opening frame while Fucale saw five from the Sea Dogs.
Durepos, Marcus Cuomo and call-up Connor Donaghey combined for the best Sea Dogs chance of the game early in the second. Durepos was streaking in a rifled a shot stopped by Fucale, Donaghey got the second chance and Cuomo had a third, but Fucale stopped all the rebounds to keep the game tied.
The Mooseheads got on the board at 13:29 of the second period. As Lindsey potted the first goal of the game for the Mooseheads, the teddy bears came flying over the glass for the Teddy Bear Toss.
Auger made a big toe save on Matthew Boudreau, absolutely robbing the Halifax forward. Boudreau put a rebound chance off the post as Auger reached behind himself to grab hold of the puck that was loose in the crease.
MacAulay continued his career mark climb for goals with his 18th of the season at 19:04. MacKenzie Brown made a perfect pass from behind the net to set up MacAulay's goal. Andreas Tsogkas tallied the other assist on the play.
The Mooseheads had poured on the offense in the second, outshooting the Sea Dogs 22-9.
Fournier made it 2-1 for the Mooseheads at the six-minute mark of the third.
The Sea Dogs pulled Auger with just over a minute to go and the gamble paid off. Durepos scored his third of the year at 59.2 seconds left in regulation to force extra time. Michael Abbott and Stephen MacAulay set up the goal to grab the assists on the play.
Izacky finished off the comeback victory with a power play goal, his 10thgoal of the season, at 1:34 of extra time.
The Sea Dogs return home tomorrow night at 7 p.m. when the PEI Rocket visit Harbour Station. Tickets are available at the Harbour Station box office, by calling 657-1234 and online at tickets.harbourstation.ca.
