Saint John Sea Dogs News Release

SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Director of Hockey Operations Mike Kelly announced today that the team has traded overage goaltender Marc-Antoine Gélinas to the Shawinigan Cataractes in exchange for a sixth round pick at the 2011 QMJHL Entry Draft.

The Sea Dogs acquired Gélinas from the Olympiques on August 24, 2009 in a trade that sent a conditional draft selection to Gatineau. In 99 career appearances with Saint John, Gatineau, and P.E.I., Gélinas has registered a G.A.A. of 3.23 in addition to a SV% of 0.901. The 6'0", 185 lb. net minder was originally selected by Val-d'Or in the 11th round (185th overall) of the 2006 QMJHL Entry Draft.

Currently leading the QMJHL with a record of 34-6-1-0, the Sea Dogs kick off a five-game home stand on Wednesday night at 7pm versus the Moncton Wildcats (24-11-1-3). This game was originally scheduled to be played on January 2 but was postponed by the league due to weather issues. Fans that purchased tickets to this past Saturday's postponed game may use them as they are printed on Wednesday.

Saint John will also face Cape Breton (Friday, 7:30pm) and Montreal (Saturday, 7:00pm) at Harbour Station later this week. Tickets to all upcoming Sea Dogs home games are available online at www.tickets.harbourstation.ca.
