The Sea Dogs outshot the Sags 5-0 to start the contest and used the momentum in the best possible way.

Seed opened the scoring for the Dogs at 7:00 in the first taking a beautiful cross-ice pass from Huberdeau and slapping home his first-ever regular season Sea Dogs goal. Kevin Gagne found a wide-open Huberdeau to start the play, nabbing the other assist.

The Sagueneens didn't wait long to even things up, scoring on the power play only 2:10 later in the first.

Ryan Tesink had the best chance in the second half of the period, streaking in from the bench to steal the puck, deke past a defender and snapped a shot that was blockered away be Desrosiers.

The first period ended 2-1 with the shots 11-9 in favour of the Sagueneens.

Chicoutimi took the lead at 2:28 of the second on Gagnon's marker.

Huberdeau spotted Tesink up behind the defence, fed him the pass and Tesink deked in on Desrosiers who made a big save to conserve the single goal lead for the Sags.

The Sea Dogs power play unit had a number of great chances around the middle of the second. Huberdeau made a particularly beautiful move to slide between two Sagueneens defencemen and snap a shot on Desrosiers, who had to be quick to hold the lead.

Gagne made an excellent pinching play, causing a Chicoutimi turnover to the superstar forward Huberdeau, who made a slick move to sneak one past Desrosiers to tie the game at 16:35 with his 10th goal of the season.

Back-and-forth play dominated the opening of the third with shots 4-4 seven minutes in.

In a strange play, Izacky took the puck from Devon Oliver-Dares and snapped his first QMJHL marker on a quick shot past Desrosiers after a highlight-reel move to restore the Sea Dogs lead at 15:59 of the final frame. Aidan Kelly added the other assist on the play.

The Sagueneens tied the game with 40.4 seconds left in the game on the power play goal by Gregoire.

Overtime solved nothing, sending the teams to the shootout. Huberdeau scored the lone goal and Auger stopped all three shooters to gain the Sea Dogs victory.

The Sea Dogs remain on the road with a contest in Baie-Comeau Saturday afternoon getting underway at 5 PM Atlantic. The game can be heard on www.news889.com with Tim Roszell or caught on the TELUS QMJHL webcast at webcast.theqmjhl.ca.
