SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs are proud to be releasing a limited-edition commemorative book entitled "Hockey Heaven: A Look Inside the 2011 Saint John Sea Dogs, Memorial Cup Champions."

Pre-orders are being taken for the exclusive run of 500 copies, which is selling fast. The books will arrive in time for Christmas, but fans are encouraged to place a pre-order to ensure they receive a copy.

The book is filled with pictures, quotes, and behind-the-scenes looks at the team's historic journey through the 2010-2011 season. Hockey Heaven focuses on the amazing playoff run to the President's Cup final and ending with the Memorial Cup win over the host Mississauga St. Michael's Majors. All the special moments are commemorated, from opening night to the celebration parade down King Street. Records were broken, memories were made and brotherhoods forged. The tale stretches over a momentous season including two championships, both franchise firsts for Saint John. Regular-season champions two years running, the Sea Dogs went all the way and Hockey Heaven brings fans along for the ride. The 80-page, hardcover book is selling for $58 in honour of tying the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League record of 58 wins.

"Initially we went back and forth between a book and a DVD, but we wanted something solid, something our fans could take home and show their grandchildren. A DVD just didn't cover it," says Sea Dogs President Wayne Long. "This book fits the bill. It will last and will let our fans enjoy the memory for years to come."

There will be only one print run of this exclusive piece of Saint John hockey history. This is the first time a Maritime team won the Memorial Cup in the trophy's 93-year history as the national major junior championship and the book represents an one-of-a-kind peek into that historic championship year. Hockey Heaven is all about the experience, filled with captivating pictures from the most critical moments of the journey as it follows the adventure that became a lasting memory for the team, the fans and the city of Saint John. Hockey Heaven is selling fast, and fans need to act quickly to get a copy of the extraordinary chronicle of Saint John Sea Dogs history.
