SAINT JOHN, January 24, 2007 - Sea Dogs hockey fans are embracing online game ticketing.

Since being introduced as an option in early December, there's been a steady increase in the number of tickets being purchased electronically. The acceptance of the service reached a new high this past Saturday night when close to 17 per cent of all "walkup" game tickets sold for the Acadie-Bathurst/Sea Dogs game were bought online.

"We are ecstatic with the response to this service," said David Turk, executive director of the Sea Dogs. "The number of fans choosing to buy online and printing their own tickets at home has been increasingly almost every game. They see the value of the service, particularly in avoiding game-night lineups at the Harbour Station box office."

Turk noted that the Sea Dogs don't add a service charge to online ticket purchases, a feature that is unique in the sports entertainment business.

"We are leading the way by offering our fans a free service," he said. "The Sea Dogs organization appreciates that there are other entertainment options. We are continually looking for new ways to provide our fans with excellent customer service."

Turk said fans can have confidence in the online ticket system. "It is equipped with the latest in encryption technology, ensuring a safe and secure buying experience."

Fans wishing to purchase their Sea Dogs tickets online should visit the team's website at www.saintjohnseadogs.com.

The Sea Dogs are on the road for four games, beginning tomorrow night (Jan. 25) in Victoriaville. They return to Harbour Station ice on Feb. 2 when they will entertain the Moncton Wildcats in a 7:30 game start.
