The Sea Dogs and Altoona Curve conclude a suspended game from June 11th in Altoona, followed by a 7-inning game...Portland is 7-6 during an 18-game stretch against the Western Division.

NEWS AND NOTES

TWO GAMES, DUAL PURPOSES : Tonight the Sea Dogs and Altoona Curve conclude a suspended game from June 11th at Peoples Natural Gas Field, followed by a seven-inning contest...In game one, Altoona is the home team, with Portland leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third...That game will wrap-up Portland's recent 8-game roadtrip (currently 4-3)...Game two will start a four-game series in three days with the Curve, and the start of a seven-game homestand...This is the second straight day the 'Dogs play a suspended/7-inning game.

2-FOR-1 : Portland and Erie concluded a suspended game from Wednesday, and won 8-6 on Wednesday morning at Jerry Uht Park...In game two, RHP Luis Diaz retired 18 of 19 batters faced in his Double-A debut, as the 'Dogs beat the 'Wolves 5-1...Diaz yielded just one hit, a solo-homer to CF Jason Krizan in the fourth...The righty fanned four, and threw 39 of 53 pitches for strikes...1B Dave Chester blasted a grand-slam, his first Double-A homer...SS Deven Marrero added his third homer of the season...Portland and Erie finished the season series by splitting six games.
