Sea Dogs Foundation Releases Calendar in Support of Empty Stocking Fund

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs Foundation are very excited to announce that they will have 2013 "Special Alumni Edition" calendars for sale on Friday, Dec. 7.

The calendars are $10.00 each and will be available at the office of the Telegraph Journal and at Sea Dogs home games following the release date. For every $10.00 raised through the Telegraph Journal, $2.00 of every purchase will be donated to the Empty Stocking Fund.

"The calendars highlight some of the former Sea Dogs who have gone on to professional careers," says Barry Reid, Executive Director of the Foundation. "We are pleased that this calendar will help to enhance our contribution to this worthwhile cause."

The Foundation will also conduct a "Change Bandit" promotion at the Dec. 8 Sea Dogs games against Quebec Ramparts, a usual staple in one of the Sea Dogs games during early December.

"The Saint John fans are very generous, says Reid. "We're hoping that they will help fill the empty stockings with loose change and donate in support of the families who are in need this time of year."

Over $2,700 was collected for the Empty Stocking Fund in a similar promotion last year.

The Sea Dogs are returning to Harbour Station on Sunday, Dec. 2 as they take on the Rimouski Oceanic at 3 p.m. Tickets for the afternoon match are available at the Harbour Station box office, online at tickets.harbourstation.ca or by calling 657-1234.
