
Sea Dogs Drop Final Game of Quebec Road Trip 2-1

Saint John Sea Dogs News Release
The Saint John Sea Dogs (14-9-0-3) fell to the Victoriaville Tigres (9-12-3-1) in the final game of their Quebec road trip on Sunday. William Dufour scored the sole goal for the Sea Dogs, breaking the Tigres' shut out late with only 20 seconds left in the final period, in the 2-1 loss.
Jonathan Lemieux got the start for Saint John, making 23 saves on 25 shots. Nathan Darveau was in net for the Tigres, stopping 33 of 34 shots.
The matchup was a battle of the goaltenders in Victoriaville on Sunday. The first two periods passed without a goal. The Tigres had control of the first period, leading shots 15-8 after the first 20 minutes of play. The Sea Dogs came out with more bounce, and began to close the gap in shots, leading shots 9-6 in the second frame.
Midway through the third period, at 10:14, Maxime Pellerin broke the scoreless tie and gave the Tigres the lead. Six minutes later he hit the back of the net again and the Tigres went up 2-0 with four minutes left on the clock.
The Sea Dogs pulled Lemieux from the net with two minutes remaining and William Dufour scored his 20th goal of the season with 20 seconds left on the clock. Ripping a shot past the goaltender and breaking the shutout. It was not enough and the Sea Dogs fell 2-1.
Final shots were 33-25 Sea Dogs.
