Sea Dogs Crush Titan in Bathurst

BATHURST - Adam Marsh and Sam Povorozniouk each scored twice as the Saint John Sea Dogs defeated the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, 8-2, in preseason action at KC Irving Regional Centre.

Matthew Highmore chipped in with a goal and two assists for Saint John (2-1) while Thomas Chabot, Luke Green and Adam Bateman also scored. Nathan Noel and Jason Bell added three assists apiece.

Felix Boivin and Egor Popov responded for Acadie-Bathurst (0-3) in front of 1,554 fans in attendance.

Alex Bishop earned the win in goal, stopping all 16 shots he faced in just over thirty minutes of work. Marc-Antoine Turcotte stopped 16 of 18 shots in relief, including a penalty shot by Titan first-round pick Antoine Morand.

Daniel Vautour was charged with the loss for the Titan after allowing three goals on 15 shots in more than thirty minutes. Tanner Somers gave up five goals on 22 shots after taking over midway through the second period.
