Langley, BC - Victoria Royals forward Tanner Scott led all skaters with three points on two goals and an assist in a 6-2 win over the Vancouver Giants at the Langley Events Centre on Saturday.

It was the fifth multi-point performance of the season for the Sherwood Park, AB product. He improves his point total to 27 with 10 goals and 17 assists this season.

Victoria also benefited from multi-point nights from defenceman Justin Kipkie (one goal, one assist) and forward Robin Sapousek (two assists), while starting goaltender Braden Holt stopped 19 of 21 shots against in the win.

Defenceman Dylan Anderson and forward Connor Dale collected the two goals for Vancouver in the defeat, while goaltender Brett Mirwald made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Victoria (15-32-5-1) would take an early 1-0 lead on a goal by forward Tanner Scott (9) at the 1:52 mark of the first period. Forward Marcus Almquist and defenceman Luke Rybinski would collect assists on the play.

However, a powerplay goal by Vancouver (20-25-4-2) defenceman Dylan Anderson (5) at 7:16 of the frame would soon even the game at 1-1.

But the Royals would regain the lead on a breakaway goal by forward Brayden Schuurman (11) at the 13:48 mark, assisted by forward Alex Thacker and defenceman Nate Misskey.

The back-and-forth action would continue as the Giants once again tied the game on a marker by forward Connor Dale (5) at 17:23 of the first, bringing the score to 2-2 as the game entered the second period.

The game would remain tied until the 18:34 mark of the second when Victoria forward Teydon Trembecky (7) scored the eventual game-winning goal to put his team ahead 3-2 entering the third.

Forwards Robin Sapousek and Alex Edwards picked up assists on the goal.

The Royals would increase their lead to 4-2 at the start of the third, with defenceman Justin Kipkie (5) striking at 4:49 of the frame, and defenceman Kalem Parker and Tanner Scott on the assists.

That would be followed by a goal by defenceman Austin Zemlak (2) at the 10:53 mark to increase Victoria's lead to 5-2.

Tanner Scott (11) would seal the victory with an empty net goal at 16:50 of the third, bringing the score to 6-2 where it would remain until the final buzzer.

Robin Sapousek would count his second assist of the night on the play.

Looking ahead, the Giants will have a week off to prepare for a matchup against the Saskatoon Blades in Langley on Saturday, Feb. 18.
