Scorps Take Home Games on the Road

The Yuma Scorpions announced today they will be taking the Golden Baseball League experience south of the border for the first time this season. The Scorpions will host the Orange County Flyers next Wednesday and Thursday at Istadio Revolucion in neighbouring San Luis, Rio Colorado, Mexico. Both games start at 7:30 pm.

The GBL has staged Scorpions games in El Centro, CA and San Luis in previous season in an effort to expand their fan base.

"This is a great opportunity through the cooperation of the Flyers to bring an exciting, professional brand of baseball to San Luis", said GBL president Dave Kaval. "This further advances our reputation as the premiere international independent baseball league."

Scorpions' owner Ricky Smith has met recently with the mayor and numerous dignitaries in San Luis to guarantee an exciting game night experience for both the fans and players from the Scorpions and Flyers. "The reception we has received in San Luis has been remarkable", said Smith. "It will be fun for our players and organization to play in front of an appreciate crowd and could open some doors for future appearances. They should be impressed with the level of baseball our league provides."

The Scorpions have a short two game series in Orange County Friday and Saturday before returning for the four game series against the Flyers next Monday and Tuesday in Yuma, then Wednesday and Thursday in San Luis.

The Scorpions have also announced that starting Monday they will revert to their old mid-week starting time of 7:05 pm. That means that all games, regardless of the day of the week will be at the same time.
