Scorpions Suffer First Shutout Of The Season

[ODESSA, Tex. ]-The Jackalopes rode Mike Ramsey's big night to a 4-0 victory over the Scorpions. It was the first time the Scorpions have been shut out this season.

Odessa came out looking to end their seven-game home, losing streak. Things looked good for the home fans when Jeff Ewasko and Mike Ramsay netted first period goals.

Ramsey finished his hat trick picking up two more goals in the second period. Using Ramsey's first professional hat trick the Jackalopes took a 4-0 lead into the locker room after two periods.

The loss was the Scorpions fourth straight on the road. The Scorpions kept the top spot in the Southwest Division with Amarillo's loss to Lubbock.

The Scorpions will be back in action Wednesday and Friday nights against Arizona at the Santa Ana Star Center. Friday is "Salute to the Badges Night."

All law enforcement officers, public safety workers and firefighters are invited to the game for only $11. In addition, the Scorpions will wear special jerseys to be auctioned off after the game. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico, Haven House and Safe House. Following the auction stick around for the always entertaining "cops vs. fire" hockey game.
