
Scorpions preseason game to be broadcast live on the Internet

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]- The New Mexico Scorpions, proud member of the Central Hockey League (CHL), will play their lone preseason game Saturday, Oct. 14 in Amarillo. Scorpions' fans will be able to listen to the game over the internet.
As the Scorpions get their squad in gear for the upcoming season, fans can listen by visiting http://www.broadcastmonsters.com/NewMexico/newmexico.asx. Scorpions' broadcaster Adam Minnick will have the play-by-play starting at 6:00 PM. This will also be the internet broadcast home for the Scorpions all season long.
The Scorpions will face the Gorillas in a preview of opening night a week later. The same two teams will face off, at the same time, in the same place on Oct. 21. The Scorpions and Amarillo will get to know each other over the course of the season as the Southwest division rivals will square off seven times during the regular season.
PRACTICE NOTE: The Scorpions will hold one final pre-season public practice on Saturday, Oct. 14. Scorpions' fans are invited to Blades Multiplex Arenas, in Rio Rancho, starting at 9:00 AM. Following the morning skate the players will enjoy a team lunch and take off for Amarillo.
The Scorpions will christen the new state-of-the-art Santa Ana Star Center on Friday, October 27, when they face the Arizona Sundogs at 7:35 p.m. The Scorpions will hold a Pre-Game Fiesta starting at 5:00 PM in front of the Santa Ana Star Center on Oct. 27. Kids will enjoy face painting and everyone will enjoy the music and other festivities.
All fans attending the home opener will receive Thunderstix courtesy of Santa Ana Star Casino. In addition, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will be given a free coupon for the commemorative puck compliments of Santa Ana Star Casino. The game begins at 7:35 PM. Fans are reminded to not be late, as there will be special pre-game ceremonies and introductions commemorating the night
