SCORPIONS RECAP â
SCORPIONS 5, TOPEKA 2 â The line of Konrad McKay (2g-2a), Mike Oliveira (1g-2a) and Randy Murphy (1g-2a) combined for ten points as they claimed a 5-2 win at Topeka on Tuesday in the first-ever meeting between the teams. Murphy and McKay scored in a 1:06 span late in the first period to give the Scorpions a 2-1 lead. Shawn Legault added some breathing room in the second period. Guy St. Vincent stopped 18 shots for his first professional win.
OKLAHOMA CITY 5, SCORPIONS 2 â The Blazers scored three power play goals to take a 5-2 win over the Scorpions on Wednesday. Erik Adams scored two third-period goals to cut a 4-0 deficit in half, but Oklahoma City was able to hold on. Dallas Stars forward Brenden Morrow had four assists for the Blazers. Miguel Beaudry made 35 saves for the Scorpions.
SCORPIONS 3, COLORADO 2 (OT) â Peter Ambroziak scored his second goal of the game at 1:41 of overtime to give the Scorpions a 3-2 win over the Eagles on Friday. Ambroziak and Mike Oliveira staked New Mexico to a 2-0 lead in the first period, but Colorado was able to come back to tie the game. Miguel Beaudry was sensational in goal with 40 saves as the Scorpions were outshot 42-16 in the game.
SCORPIONS 4, COLORADO 3 (SO) â The Scorpions did something on Saturday no other team in the CHL has done, deal the Eagles back-to-back regular season losses at the Budweiser Events Center. Konrad McKay (2g-1a) and Mike Oliveira (1g-2a) had three points each to give the Scorpions a 4-3 shootout win on Saturday. Miguel Beaudry made 40 saves for the second straight night and stopped all four Eagles attempts in the shootout. Randy Murphy and Oliveira scored in the shootout, with Murphy receiving credit for the game-winning goal.
SCORPIONS MATCH-UPS â
SAN ANGELO â The Scorpions welcome the Saints to Tingley Coliseum for the first of six meetings this season. San Angelo is off to a strong start defending their Southwest Division championship from last year as they are in first place with a 4-1-1 record. Returnee Trevor Weisgerber leads the Saints with eight points (4g-4a) entering tomorrow's game against Amarillo, followed by newcomer Bret Dececco (4g-1a-5pts). Reigning CHL Goalie of the Year Scott Reid has started every game, posting a 4-2 record with a 2.53 GAA.
ODESSA â After missing the playoffs last year, the Jackalopes are off to a solid 4-1-0 start and leading the CHL averaging four goals per game. Sebastien Thinel is tied for second in the league with seven goals and tied for sixth with 11 points. Defenseman B.J. Adams is second among the league's rearguards with nine points (3g-6a). Goalie Mike Gorman is 4-1-0 with a 2.74 GAA. Odessa is second in the league on the power play behind the Scorpions at 27 percent and third on the penalty kill at 90.3 percent.
RIO GRANDE VALLEY â The Scorpions and Killer Bees meet for the first time in the regular season on Sunday after not meeting last year, the Bees' first in the CHL. RGV is in a three-way tie for first place in the Southeast Division but have played just four games, the fewest of any team. Jason Hawes leads the Killer Bees with six points (1g-5a. Jeff Levy is 2-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA while Jacque Vezina is 1-1-0 with a 2.89 GAA. The Killer Bees are tied with the Scorps for second in the CHL with 3.75 goals per game.
STINGERS â Mike Oliveira is leading the CHL with eight goals... He is also leading the way with six power play goals and is tied for third overall with 12 points... Randy Murphy and Konrad McKay are tied for sixth in the league with 11 points (both 4g-7a)... Miguel Beaudry leads the league with five wins, 233 saves and 422 minutes played... Already this season he has stopped 40 shots in a game three times... Daniel Tetrault is fifth among CHL defenseman with seven points (1g-6a)... A Scorpions player has scored twice in a game in seven of the team's eight games this season, including six in a row... McKay and Oliveira have turned the feat twice, joined by Murphy, Erik Adams and Peter Ambroziak... Eight of the Scorpions' next 11 games come against opponents from the Southern Conference... After playing six of their first eight games on the road, the Scorpions now play nine of the next 13 contests at Tingley Coliseum... Last season it took the Scorpions until Nov. 26 to record their sixth win, and Nov. 29 to record their fourth road victory.

Join Mike Sheehan, Scorpions coach Bill McDonald and special guests each and every week. This week's guest is scheduled to be Daryl Moor.
SCORPIONS TICKETS AND EVENTS â The Scorpions' game on Friday, Nov. 12 is Team Schedule Poster Night to the first 1,500 fans. In addition, WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio will be appearing LIVE at the game and signing autographs. It is also Fans with Cans Night. Fans brining canned goods to the game will receive $4 off a grandstand ticket to the Scorpions' Nov. 24 Thanksgiving Eve game against Amarillo. Tickets start at just $11 and are available through the Scorpions Team Store in the Far North Shopping Center at San Mateo and Academy or any TicketMaster outlet. Following the Scorpions' game against Rio Grande Valley on Sunday, Nov. 14, it will be the return of Skate with the Scorpions sponsored by Blades in Rio Rancho.
