New Mexico Scorpions News Release

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-A controversial overtime goal gave Colorado a 2-1 victory. Kevin Ulanski was credited with the game winning goal that, according to the official, fully cleared the goal line.

The goaltenders ruled the first half of the game making save after save. Ed McGrane broke the deadlock as he slid the puck past Scorps net minder Jason Wolfe at the 17:10 mark of the second period.

New Mexico tied the game up with an early third period goal from an unlikely source. Chris Robertson won a draw back to Ben Chaisson who fired it into the net, the first goal of his pro career.

The Scorpions will enjoy a holiday break before next weekend's three games in three nights stretch. Friday, the Scorps host Rocky Mountain at 7:15 p.m.
