Scorpions Brighten Children's Day
November 14, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
New Mexico Scorpions News Release
[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-Yesterday, ten Scorpions took time out of their day to visit patients at the UNM Children's Hospital. The team visited the Carrie Tingley Floor, the Pediatric Unit and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Over 60 kids were visited throughout the hospital wards with the Scorps doing a multitude of activities. Andrew Martin, Mike Minard and Shawn Skiehar showed off their talent drawing and painting.
Jay Holladay learned that mixing everyday items can make clay to mold things with. The group then turned their attention to the foosball table.
Michael Kolarz and Martin teamed up for an intense game. Rumor has it, the Scorpions are far better on the ice than they are on a foosball table.
The Scorpions are back on home ice Friday night when Amarillo visits the Santa Ana Star Center. It will be Radio Disney Night with Disney Prize Packs given to the first 300 kids through the gates. New Mexico will also be at home this Sunday afternoon for a 3:15 p.m. affair against Arizona. Following the game there will be a skate with the Scorpions. If you don't own your own skates, rentals will be available free of charge.
Call the Scorpions' office at (505) 881-PUCK (7825) or visit http://www.scorpionshockey.com to find out how you can be a part of real hockey...rio entertainment. You don't want to miss your chance to watch the Scorpions drive toward the Ray Miron President's Cup.
