Bees Acquire Herauf From Tulsa
November 14, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League today announced the team has acquired LW Lance Herauf from the Tulsa Oilers in exchange for D Mike Looby.
Herauf played 10 games for the Oilers this season and posted two goals and an assist. Last season with New Mexico, he had 58 points (20-38-58) and finished with a plus-21 rating. A total of 14 of his points (2-12-14) came via the power play. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Balgonie, Saskatchewan, native was one of six finalists for the CHL Rookie of the Year award last season.
"It's not everyday you can get a rookie of the year candidate," said Killer Bees Head Coach Paul Fixter. "It's never easy to give up a quality player like Mike Looby, but we believe Lance's offensive potential will make an impact with our team."
The Killer Bees host Austin this Friday and Corpus Christi on Saturday. Game time for both nights at Dodge Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
