
Schlereth Promoted to Phoenix

MOBILE, Ala. (May 29) - Prior to tonight's contest between the Mobile BayBears and Jacksonville Suns at Hank Aaron Stadium, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the BayBears have announced the following roster moves. LHP Daniel Schlereth has been promoted to the Diamondbacks. He marks the 98th BayBear player to advance to the major leagues and the 5th this seaosn to go directly from Mobile. Schlereth was 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA in 15 appearances for the BayBears this season. Schlereth tossed one scoreless inning in his final appearance for the BayBears last night against Jacksonville. RHP Jeff Dietz has been sent up to Mobile from Single-A Visalia. Dietz had a 2.19 ERA and 6 saves in 16 apperances this season for the Rawhide. He was signed as a non-drafted free agent on August 31, 2007 by the D-backs out of Brown University. He will be available to pitch for the BayBears tonight. The BayBears now have 24 active players...
