West Texas Roughnecks News Release

ODESSA, TX. The Roughneck roster will stay intact through this Saturday. However, players won't have all that long to relax as final roster decisions will be determined from this Saturday's scrimmage. "With nine more guys to release before we announce our final roster, the next two days are a critical evaluation period for us," said defensive coordinator, Teddrick Keaton.

There are some very tight battles for several final roster spots. At defensive back, Justin Carrigan and Otheese Wells are competing for a position with the team. John Whitehead and Chris Isadore are dueling for the remaining wide receiver spot. Scott Kello and Ryan Breedlove are fighting to back up Jason Johnson at quarterback.

*Practices have been re-scheduled for the weekend. This Friday there will be only one practice at 7:00 PM at the Midland Youth Field. Saturday there will also be one practice with a scrimmage taking place at Hood Junior High at 2:00 PM.

Fans are welcomed to attend any practice and encouraged to come see the action this Saturday as the players battle to make the team.
