Saskatoon Brewers to Play in Presidents Cup

SASKATCHEWAN- The Saskatoon Brewers will be playing in the 2016 President's Cup in Leduc, starting Sunday, August 28, 2016. The full schedule has been posted here, with the Brewers opening their tournament against the hometown St. Albert Miners on Monday, August 29 at 7:00 pm. It will be a great chance for Saskatchewan players to play at the highest level of lacrosse as the Miners have John Lintz and Ryan Dilks of the Saskatchewan Rush playing for them.

The Saskatoon Brewers roster is as follows:

13 - Shawn Volk - Offense(L) - 5'10 - Saskatoon - Captain - Started playing field lacrosse in high-school. Started box with the Saskatoon Smash as a junior and attended 2 Founders Cup Tournaments with the team.

17 - Steve Regush - Transition(R) - 5'9 - Saskatoon - Assistant Captain - Has been playing for 17 years in Saskatoon and has made 6 Founders Cup appearances as a Junior B player has won 2 senior provincial titles in Saskatchewan

22 - Nathan Yaskowich - Transition(R) - 5'9 - Saskatoon

10 - Jason McLeod - Defense(R) - 6'3 - Saskatoon

12 - Konner Siemens - Transition(L) - 5'10 - Saskatoon - Has been playing for 12 years and played for the Sherwood park titans and team Alberta. Saskatoon Steelers PGLL 1st team all-star then played for the Saskatchewan Swat for 3 years participating in the founders Jr. B tournament every year.

16 - Dane Young - Offense(R) - 5'10 - Fort Erie, ON - Played 2 seasons with the Jr. B Spartans in St. Catherine's, 5 seasons with the Sr. B Brewers in Saskatoon, including 3 provincial titles in Saskatchewan. As well, a number of championship wins with Fort Erie lacrosse and southern Ontario high school lacrosse.

19 - Jason Procyshyn - Transition(L) -6'1 - Saskatoon - Played since I was 15. Played for team Sask as an intermediate, and as a JR and SR for field lax. Played in Founder's as well one yr.

21 - Brandon Murphy - Offense(L) - 6'0 - Saskatoon - Played lacrosse for 17 years. Three provincial titles with JR B Smash. One provincial title with SR C Brewers.

24 - Steven Toporowski - Transition(L) - 6'5 - Saskatoon - Played for 17 years. Junior for the Saskatchewan SWAT Junior B. Played at 4 founders cups with SWAT and 1 Ales Hrebeskey Memorial with the Clarington Green Geals.

20 - Josh Murray - Defense(L) - 6'3 - Saskatoon - Played lacrosse for 9 years, played in Bantam Nationals, won peewee provincials.

26 - Justin Greenaway - Defense(R) -5'11 - Saskatoon

7 - Levi Dziadyk - Transition(L) - 6'2 - Saskatoon

9 - Brendan Turberfield - Offense(L) - 6'2 - Yorkton, SK - 10th year playing. Junior in Yorkton. Played U19 field nationals with South Sask. In 2008 and Founders with Sask Selects in 2010.

5 - Ryan Schuyler - Defense(R) - 6'1 - Saskatoon - 10 years of lacrosse JR and intermediate in Ontario.

2 - Ryan Spencer - Offense(R) - 5'9 - Saskatoon - 15 years playing lacrosse. Silver medal at U19 field nationals. Founders Cup first team all-star. Numerous provincial championships for field and box.

15 - Carl Trobak - Transition(R) - 5'10 - Saskatoon

8 - Frank Davalos - Transition(R) - 5'5 - Moose Jaw, SK - 26 year old lacrosse player from Moose Jaw, SK. Grew up playing in Moose Jaw. Played On Team Saskatchewan field both U16 and U19. Spent a summer preparing for the Sonoma State Shootout with the Scorpions just before college. Moved to Vancouver when he was 19 to play for Simon Fraser University, which made it to the MCLA final four in his freshmen year. During the same time, Davalos played in Burnaby, Jr. A and B, and also played for Port Moody Senior B in 2013. Took 3 years off lacrosse when he moved to South America, and rejoined in 2016 as a first year player for The Moose Jaw Chiefs.

14 - Baden Boyenko - Offense(R) -5'11 - Saskatoon - 19 years old plays for JR A SWAT. Winning the RMLL title in JR B last year and winning gold at u19 Worlds for Canada West.

3 - Mike Kaminski - Transition(L) - 6'4 - Saskatoon - 14 years JR B swat JR A SWAT and Founder's Cup.

4 - Ben Caithcart - Draw(R) - 5'11 - Saskatoon

6 - Eli Batt - Transition(R) - 5'11 - Winnipeg, MB

28 - Pat Mallough - Goalie(L) - 5'9 - Saskatoon - Started 2001. Junior highlights 2009 perfect Season with Saskatoon Steelers JR B 18-0, Playoff MVP and runner-up to Sask Lacrosse Athlete of the year. 2012 to 2014 played for Nanaimo SR B Timbermen with a record of 16-3 over 3 seasons. Member of the Nanaimo Timbermen in 2014 President's Cup team.

1- Taylor Roach - Goalie(R) - 6'3 -Moose Jaw, SK - Played since I was 9 so 17 years, played on RMLL JR. B Saskatchewan Stealth, and also went to Founder's Cup with Moose Jaw Mustangs.

33 - Louden Choptuik - Goalie(R) - 5'10 - Saskatoon - P layed in Yorkton for the Bulldogs for 10 years, bantam to junior. Then a year of SWAT lacrosse in Saskatoon. Been to the Junior B Founder's twice with the SWAT in 2012 and 2013. Then played for the Brewers for 2 years winning Provincials in 2016.
