Santa Cruz Warriors News Release
SANTA CRUZ, CA - Santa Cruz has added Jeremy Lin for the 2020-21 NBA G League season through the new NBA Veteran exception rule, the team announced today. The new rule for the 2020-21 season allows teams to designate one NBA Veteran Selection to join a team's 10-man roster.
Lin, 32, began his NBA career with the Golden State Warriors after going unselected in the 2010 NBA Draft. The Harvard alum owns career averages of 11.6 points, 4.2 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 25.5 minutes in 480 career games (221 starts) over nine NBA seasons with the Warriors, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors.
Lin spent the 2019-20 season with the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association, averaging 22.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 43 games (all starts). In 2019, Lin became the first Asian American to win an NBA Championship, doing so as a member of the Raptors. A native of Palo Alto, Calif., Lin attended Palo Alto High School.
