Sanguinetti and Peckham Impressive at NHL Draft Combine

Owen Sound Attack Defencemen Theo Peckham and Bobby Sanguinetti were in Toronto this past weekend for the 2006 NHL Draft Combine. Invited to take part in the weekend festivities were 115 of the top draft eligible players for the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The following quotes are a portion of the TSN.ca Day 2 diary about Sanguinetti and Peckham's performances.

"Another highly-rated prospect, Owen Sound defenceman Bobby Sanguinetti (ranked No. 12 by ISS) was very impressive. Though Sanguinetti isn't very thick, he was strong, lean and muscular, with our source describing him as "cut".

Perhaps the most impressive performance of the afternoon session was put on by Sanguinetti's Owen Sound teammate Theo Peckham. A physical defenceman, rated 65th among North American skaters by Central Scouting, Peckham had most of the room stop to watch his performance on the anaerobic bike exercise. At least one GM voiced amazement at Peckham's effort. "

The 2006 NHL Entry Draft begins Saturday June 24 from General Motors Place in Vancouver, BC. It can be seen live on TSN beginning at 6:00 pm ET. The Owen Sound Attack would like to wish Bobby Sanguinetti, Theo Peckham, and Scott Tregunna the best of luck in this year's draft.
