Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that DB Terrance Sanders will return for the 2012 season. Sanders (5-11 185) is the sixth player to return from the 2011 roster.

An AFL-veteran, Sanders recorded 81 tackles with five interceptions, 12 pass break-ups and two fumble recoveries for Spokane last season. On kick-off returns, Sanders collected 1,485 yards (averaging 20.3 yards per return - third in the league) with four touchdowns.

"There is no doubt that adding Sanders is a big plus for our team," Head Coach Andy Olson said. "He made big contributions in our secondary and he is one of the top kick-returners in the AFL. I'm confident that Terrance will be able to continue to improve his game and he will be another leader on defense for us."

As a member of the Arizona Rattlers in 2010, Sanders led the team in tackles (85) and in pass break-ups (11) and added four interceptions. On special teams, Sanders returned 60 kicks for 1,082 yards with two touchdowns.

Prior to joining the Rattlers, Sanders was a member of the af2's Boise Burn where he was a member of the all-af2 team both seasons.

"It's great to add a player like Terrance whose character off the field is matched only by his talent on the field," Olson said.
