Reno Aces News Release
Gerardo Parra had another three-hit night, and Yunesky Sanchez gave the Reno Aces a walk-off victory with a two-out RBI-single in the eleventh, as Reno knocked off Omaha for the second-straight game Thursday night at Aces Ballpark.
The Aces trailed 3-0 in the seventh, but chipped away in the late innings to send the game into extras. Ryan Roberts got the Aces on the board with an RBI-single in the seventh, and an Ed Rogers' run-scoring fielder's choice cut the lead to 3-2. In the eighth, Mark Hallberg scored the tying run on an error after a Pedro Ciriaco double, before Sanchez completed the comeback with his second walk-off single of the season, a ground ball base hit just past the third baseman.
Kevin Mulvey started and tossed seven innings for Reno, allowing just three earned runs on five hits. Daniel Stange (4-1) earned the win in relief in his first appearance for Reno since being optioned back to the Aces on Wednesday.
Omaha starter Anthony Lerew also got a no-decision, hurling 6.1 innings and holding the Aces to just two earned runs. Victor Marte (2-1) took the loss for the O-Royals after allowing Sanchez's walk-off hit in the 11th.
Parra led the Aces with another three-hit night, his third in five games with the Aces. He is now 11-for-21 (.524) in five games with the Aces. Reno's defense helped out by turning three double plays on the evening.
Reno and Omaha complete their only series of the season Friday evening, with Reno RHP Matt Torra (2-1, 2.57 ERA) facing off against O-Royals RHP Robert Ray (2-3, 3.93 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT, and the game will be a Saint Mary's Fireworks Friday presented by KOLO 8.
Tickets for all Aces games start at just $7, and are available by calling the Reno Aces box office at (775) 334-7000 or by visiting RenoAces.com. The brand-new Freight House District, located just outside Aces Ballpark, is open seven days a week, on both game days and non-game days.
